John Dramani Mahama of the NDC was President from 2012 to 2016, and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the NPP is the incumbent President since 2016 and his time will elapse on January 6.</p><p>So this year's voting exercise is going to be largely based on a comparison of track record, just as election analysts are saying. So for Ghanaians to elect the best president for the next four years, there's the need for everyone to do an introspection into the track records of both presidential candidates.</p><p>However, this is what I can see from God's perspective. Aside from the introspection into track records, God is saying that only the most truthful, honest, and God-fearing candidate will ascend the Jubilee House on January 7, 2021.</p><p>He said that it is only the candidate who God, the maker of kings and institutor of men in authorities including presidents, adjudged based on moral and ethical principles as the best president for Ghana is the one who will certainly and eventually enter the Jubilee House.</p><p>He said, "Take it or leave it, I care less. But the one I see in the Jubilee House is the one ordained by God beforehand and nothing can be changed by any means. Only the promise deliverer, honest and truthful candidate will be in the Jubilee House."</p><p>However, God almost always works through man and it is only when Ghanaians come out in their numbers, make the necessary comparisons and vote for truth and honesty and accountability and democracy, that this can be realized.</p><p>So you can either take it or leave it, but all Prophet Kofi Oduro can see in the Jubilee House is a truthful and faithful leader, one that is God fearing and more democratic. The name, however has not been mentioned.</p>

FF Anto once said, 'Insolence dragged NDC to Opposition' and I think it's a truism.<br /> <br />  If the Minority(NDC) knew they wouldn't sit down and listen to what the President had to say, then I think they shouldn't have attended the meeting in the first place.<br /> <br /> Why would you come and walk out? To me, the walkout is a sign of indiscipline and dis-respectfulness. Her ambition to be president is evident in the 2012 polls where she applied to contest as an independent candidate. However she was barred by the electoral commission.<br /> Madam Donkor on the other hand does not agree with decision. In her view she should be addressed as Her Excellency though she was disqualified.<br /> <br /> Her party, Ghana Freedom Party has its headquarters situated in Kabu in the Eastern Region of Ghana. In her view, the start of a political party is a stepping stone to becoming a president. Currently Madam donkor is in the process of opening regional offices for her party in all the ten region of Ghana.<br /> <br /> <h3> <b>Campaign promise</b></h3> When elected as President, Madam Donkor promises to make free education from primary to secondary level. She also seeks to raise import on taxes to enable people import more, also she would establish a free zone at the port of Tema to attract more businesses.<br /> <br /> This can all be achieved through the use of Ghana's resources such as Gold, cocoa, shea butter and salt. Buying of the finished product of oil is just absurd especially when Ghana is an oil producing country and exports its oil in an unfinished form. Muammar Gaddafi, being her political icon, was of the view that Ghana should be able to rub shoulders with Libya in the production and sale of oil.<br /> <br /> Madam Donkor appealed to Ghanaians to elect a woman as president since a woman has the capacity to transform the developmental process of this country.<br /> <br /> On October 10, 2016, the Ghana Electoral Commission announced it has disqualified Akua Donkor together with 12 other presidential candidates from contesting in the December 7, 2016 election.<br /> <br /> She admitted that her nomination form was freight with errors as pointed out by the EC. After all, since 1992, every incumbent party has enjoyed no less than two terms, and no fresh opposition candidate has ever won the presidency in a first attempt.<br /> <br />  But, I am sure the general thinking in the party, quite understandably, is that there is always a first time, that JM is their best shot for now, and that should they get to that bridge in 2024, they will cross it.<br /> <br />  The fact that constitutionally, he would only be eligible to serve one term if he wins the 2020 election, seemed to be far away from the minds of the over 213,000 delegates who donated their thumbprints to him last Saturday. <br /> <h3> <b>Election 2020</b></h3> I believe Election 2020 promises to be an exciting campaign, akin to a ‘Thriller in Manilla’ or ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ affair, to borrow from the screaming media headlines of the frenzied boxing heyday of Mohammed Ali, Joe Frazer, George Foreman et al.<br /> <br />  We will, for the first time in our electoral history, be witnessing a presidential election battle between a former and an incumbent president. It couldn’t get juicier than this. The former president is not amused over the fact that he lost his job.<br /> <br /> Now he wants it back. And I do not blame him for wanting to be our first Comeback President. After all, he holds the unenviable record of being the first incumbent President in this country to lose a re-election bid, and by such an embarrassingly huge margin.<br /> <br />  Among others, he must want to wipe that ugly blot off his otherwise star-studded political CV which saw him rise from MP through to Deputy Minister, Minister, Vice President and then finally President. And so, he will go into the election with all that he can muster. <br /> <h3> <b>Battle of records</b></h3> Indeed, I believe the Election 2020 campaign has just begun-that is, if it did not begin on January 7, 2017 right after the inauguration of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo. Cynics argue that this country is in a perpetual campaign mode because every decision or step by government and opposition is directed at the next general election.<br /> <br />  I am excited about the 2020 campaign for the simple reason that neither candidate can make lofty promises to us without a reference point-that reference point being their own four-year records as President of this country.<br /> <br />  On the economy, education, health, employment, security and a host of other indicators, we, the citizens, must demand of them what they did during their four-year tenure.<br /> <br />  That would help us to decide between ‘Nana Addo, Toaso’ (continue) and ‘JM, Sanbra’ (come back). Simple. <b>Dirty politics?</b> Of course, there will be some for whom an issue-based campaign is an anathema.<br /> <br />  They would prefer to wallow in the cesspit of dirty, ugly ethnocentric politics and divisiveness, pitching one ethnic group against the other. Others would find refuge in distributing money and all manner of cheap items in a squalid to clinch the election.<br /> <br />  It will be naïve to pretend that this will not occur, or that it will not make some impact on the electoral outcome.<br /> <br />  But we can, and must, rise above ‘Moneycracy’ and ‘Ethnocracy’.<br /> <br />  We have carried alcohol, and we have carried water, as our elders put it. We must strive to be more discerning.<br /> <br />  The 2020 clash must be of ideas and records, not of ethnicity or money. Or come to think of it, of macho men, boots, guns or slaps.
