The landmarks came thick and fast in the first half too.<br /> <br /> Croatia had started full of energy but fell behind when Mandzukic, who scored the extra-time winner against England in the semi-final, became the first man to score an own goal in a World Cup final when a Griezmann free kick skidded in off his head in the 18th minute. It was the 12th own goal of the tournament.<br /> <br /> That meant it was the fourth successive knockout game that Croatia had conceded first but Perisic, who got the equaliser against England, was on hand again to level the scores 10 minutes later, smashing in a low shot after Sime Vrsaljko had headed Luka Modric's free kick across the box.<br /> <br /> But it was then Perisic's turn go from hero to zero when he flapped an arm at a corner and, after a VAR review, Argentine referee Nestor Pitana awarded the 28th penalty of the tournament, another record, which Griezmann stroked home in the 38th minute for his fourth goal of Russia 2018.<br /> <br /> That made it the highest-scoring first half since 1974, when West Germany led the Netherlands 2-1 - also the final score then.<br /> <br /> It was harsh on Croatia, who had made most of the running, and they were on top again after the break, continually winning their one-on-one duels in the air and in every tackle and forging forward in the French box with plenty of variety.<br /> <br /> <br /> But France's defence, so impressive all tournament, held and they went 3-1 up on the hour as Mbappe and Griezmann combined to set up Pogba on the edge of the box. His right-footed shot was blocked but he coolly curved the rebound in with his left.<br /> <br /> <br /> After three successive extra-time knockout games the chances of another Croatian comeback seemed slight but they looked dead and buried six minutes later. accounts from the social media platform, several celebrities are finding they suddenly have significantly fewer followers than they did yesterday.<br /> <br /> According to The Wrap, President Donald Trump was among those affected, with his Twitter account about 400,000 followers lighter following the purge, resulting in a new total of 53 million.<br /> <br /> Trump’s predecessor was hit even harder, with Barack Obama’s Twitter account losing more than 2.5 million followers to knock the former POTUS down to a mere 101 million followers.<br /> <br /> Also affected was social media maven Kim Kardashian, who watched her numbers fall from 60.2 million followers to 58.5 million when she shed 1.7 million followers.<br /> <br /> Other celebs to lose followers include Elon Musk (-200,000), Rihanna (-900,000) and Justin Bieber, who was no doubt sorry to see his numbers drop by nearly 3 million followers.<br /> To put things in perspective, <em>Billboard</em> shared a list of the Today is our last day on earth,” she declared in a Facebook post with a family photo of herself and the three children, threatening “Am going to kill them and kill myself”.<br /> <br /> According to her, the family has suffered a lot of discrimination and humiliation after she came out publicly to tell the world that she was living with HIV/AIDS.<br /> <br /> She had to denounce her HIV status, she said in an earlier interview, to save her children from the public stigmatization.<br /> <br /> Her post on social media reads: “These are my three children. Today is our last day on earth. I have my last interview at 3fm this afternoon. I will then proceed to the village where my children are.<br /> <br /> “Am going to kill them and kill myself. We are going to a place where there is no sorrow, a place where people will never call my children AIDS children, a place where I will not be judged wrongly, a place where there is no hunger.<br /> <br /> “A place where my children will not be sacked for school fees, a place where we will not pay for accommodation. A place where no one will beat me for using their bathroom.
