They’re worth a collective $12.7 trillion—$400 billion less than in 2021. </h3><p>The most dramatic drops have occurred in Russia, where there are 34 fewer billionaires than last year following Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine, and China, where a government crackdown on tech companies has led to 87 fewer Chinese billionaires on the list.</p><p>Still, Forbes found more than 1,000 billionaires who are richer than they were a year ago. According to GhanaSky.com analyst, a Ghanaian woman who gave out her name to be Nana Konadu Berima Tweneboa Kodua, popularly known on the social media as Talking Point or Kunkunsa MP, has use the social media to pre-introduce fart herbal medication that she is planning to bring to the market.

She explains fart is causing embarrassment among many couples during foreplay leading others to feel discomfort.</h3>
Hence, taking her herbal medicine morning and before bed time will stop what causes gas to smell bad.
As a result, will change the gas to smells good, and make one feel comfortable farting in public.

Following up after her video, she said she has not pick a name to be given to her medicine yet but she is thinking of using the twi name for fart as her product label and might be given the name to be Eta mecho herbal medicine.<br />
<br />
 In doing so, it will allow Ghanaian herbal products to be more recognized in the international market.<br />

 Nana Konadu, did not give out specific time and day she will officially introduce her product to the market.<br />

<br />
 The Plaintiffs Messrs Vish Ashiagbor and Eric Nana Nipah from PricewaterhouseCoopers say the bank’s collapse was a “direct result’ of defendants’” “‘misgovernance” and “willful” breaches of banking regulations.<br />
<br />
 The writ of summons named the ‘sins’ of each of the defendants and confirmed a financial autopsy report that said its founder William Ato Essien used depositors funds as is ‘personal piggy bank’.<br />
<br />
 In one such ‘personal piggy bank’ transactions, Ato Essien request for ¢130m loan to be given to an investment company he owned, Capital and More Ltd.<br />
<br />
 But the senior management of the bank declined the disbursement of the money which was public funds from the Bank of Ghana injected to save the troubled bank in 2015.<br />
<br />
 Enter the revered <a href="https://ghanachurch.com/profile-biography-of-pastor-dr-mensa-otabil/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>Pastor Mensa Otabil</strong></a> who as Board chairman provided a personal guarantee that the loan to the CEO’s other company will be repaid.<br />
<br />
 The statement of claim said the money given out in 2015 has not been paid after three years.<br />
<br />
 The writ faulted the pastor for guaranteeing the disbursement even though he was “conscious at all material times” that it was in breach of banking regulations as well as against the “expressed opposition” of the senior managers.<br />
<br />
 That ¢130m was not the only loan William Ato Essien took from his bank. There was another ¢29.9m he caused to be granted companies he owned or was related to.

He later came for another ¢78.9m in loans.</h3>
The CEO has been asked in the writ to cough up more than ¢580m in shareholder loans he took as well as loans granted to companies he owned or is related to.<br />
<br />
 In another episode of severe and acute culture of mismanagement at the defunct bank, the directors and shareholders kept ¢482m in “non-existent investments” in their books.<br />
<br />
 The central bank would later grant their request for this imaginary investment to be converted into actual loans to be paid by the shareholders.<br />
<br />
 To date, a shareholder Otabil and Associates founded by the pastor and management expert has been unable to pay ¢51.6m which is they share of the loan converted from the imaginary investments.<br />
<br />
 Otabil’s church the <a href="https://ghanachurch.com/international-central-gospel-church-icgc-pastor-dr-mensa-otabil/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>International Central Gospel Church</strong></a> which was a shareholder in the bank has also failed to pay ¢51.6m which is also their share of the 482m loan.<br />
<br />
 A third defendant, Oheneba Osei-Akoto took a ¢2.42m loan in December 2016 using his residential property at Regimanuel Gray Estates at East Legon as collateral.<br />
<br />
 The defendant and shareholder has failed to pay back the money.<br />
<br />
 The plaintiffs said these defendants are responsible for ‘serious financial loss’ at the defunct Capital bank.<br />

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is confident of the success of the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) programme, explaining that in the National Builders Corps programme, the seeds for Ghana’s growth and future have been planted.<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo made this known on Wednesday, 17th October 2018, when he declared the one hundred thousand young men and women recruited under NABCO ready for work, at an event at the Black Star Square, Accra.<br />
<br />
Describing the day as “a very happy day for me”, the President indicated that the NABCO programme represents the beginning of “the process of banishing the spectre of desperation, and restoring hope and dignity to our youth.”<br />
<br />
Commending the 100,000 NABCO trainees for not listening to the loud cries of the cynics and ‘Jeremiahs’ who cast aspersions on the programme, he indicated that the trainees “are going to assist in the realisation of Government’s vision of an educated population, an industrialised, robust and well-managed economy, the delivery of good governance, and, for the sustenance of all these, a reliable, skilled and efficient workforce.”<br />
<br />
Additionally, the NABCO trainees, President Akufo-Addo said, will be engaged in a structured work and learning programme environment, where, for every four weeks of work, one week will be dedicated to acquiring soft, future employability, and work readiness skills.<br />
<br />
“Within three years, NABCO trainees would have obtained 36 weeks of solid training and value addition to enable them to transition smoothly into the world of permanent work. By this, we would have also addressed the very issue that keeps our graduates out of the labour market, in spite of their educational qualifications,” he stressed.<br />
<br />
The managers of the programme, the President emphasised, have struck up a partnership with the Council for Technical, Vocational and Educational Training (COTVET), and some universities, both domestic and foreign, for the validation of the content of the learning programmes, so that the trainees receive appropriate certification of their skills and training for their deployment.<br />
<br />
With exit strategies clearly defined, President Akufo-Addo indicated that the public services and institutions, having benefitted from the services of NABCO trainees over the three-year period, will, naturally, have opportunities that allow the retention of trainees, who have justified their value.<br />
<br />
Another pathway, the President added, is the building of an entrepreneurial base among the trainees, where five hundred business leaders will mentor 500 NABCO trainees under the Enterprise Ghana module.<br />
<br />
“A dedicated fund, amounting to the equivalent of their third-year allowances, is to be made available for them to start their co-operative ventures. An equivalent matching fund will be sourced from a private investor to complement the GH¢4.5 million fund,” he said.<br />
<br />
Again, trainees under the “Educate Ghana” module will have the opportunity to undertake further studies at the University College of Education Winneba, and University of Cape in the early childhood care and development sector, after which careers will be guaranteed.<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo admonished the NABCO trainees to be dutiful and productive in the areas they have been assigned, and demonstrate, on a daily basis, that they value knowledge as a basis for effective performance and productivity.<br />
<br />
“You must show your professional credentials through timeliness and punctuality, and, above all, live beyond reproach so you can discharge your responsibilities with efficiency, so that all, at the end of the day, can vouch for your integrity. Your performance will be monitored through an innovate mobile application, which will be deployed soon,” he added.<br />
<br />
NABCO trainees, the President reiterated, must bear in mind that Government is investing some GH¢3 billion of taxpayer’s money into this programme.<br />
<br />
“Your monthly stipend of 700 Ghana cedis is not free money, and you must earn every pesewa of it through hard work and dedication, which I am confident you will do,” he stressed.<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo urged Ghanaians, who will feel the presence and contribution of the 100,000 NABCO trainees in their towns and villages, and in critical sectors of the economy to work with them, “and believe that, together, we can build a progressive and prosperous nation, the equal of any on the face of the planet.”<br />
<br />
Whilst paying tribute to the invaluable contribution of “my brilliant Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and his hardworking team” for the NABCO initiative, the President urged the 100,000 young men and women to help build a nation they will be proud of.<br />
<br />
“Live by the core values of knowledge, punctuality and integrity. Live as nation builders. Let us, together, fulfil the dreams of progress and prosperity that animated the great patriots whose toil and sacrifice brought us our freedom and independence,” President Akufo-Addo added.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as part of his four-day working visit to the Central Region has commissioned a new 20 Megawatt (MW) Solar PV power plant at Gomoa Onyadze in the Gomoa West District.<br />
<br />
The plant has 40,480 pieces of polycrystalline silicon panels, 64,400 solar panels, 20 invertor rooms attached to transformers and one out-going feeder to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) main sub-station near the Winneba junction.<br />
<br />
Power generated from the solar plant would feed the ECG sub-station at Winneba, which supplied power to Apam, Winneba, Swedru and some parts of Kasoa.<br />
<br />
The $30m facility was developed and funded by Meinergy Ghana, a private Electrical Installation Company based in Ghana in collaboration with its partners.<br />
<br />
Speaking at the commissioning, President Akufo Addo reiterated Government's commitment to scale up the country’s renewable energy through utility-scale solar, off-grid projects and domestic manufacturing.<br />
<br />
In view of this, he said Government through the One District, One Factory initiative is creating a business-friendly investment environment to attract investors into the renewable energy sector to positively alter the country’s energy-mix.<br />
<br />
“We are in the age where renewable energy is being produced domestically so we want to get into a situation where these solar panels will be produced domestically within the confines of the one district one factory initiative” he stated<br />
<br />
"The 1 D1F comes with a whole package of incentives to encourage investors to invest and participate in it” he added<br />
<br />
This, according to the President would create local employment opportunities in the country and strengthen its self-reliance capabilities.<br />
<br />
Currently, Ghana is said to draw just one percent of its energy from solar, while 59 per cent comes from fossil fuels, and 40 percent from hydro.<br />
<br />
Meanwhile, the Government’s objective is to least generate 10 percent of its national electricity load from renewable energy by 2020 and in the long term become the main source.<br />
<br />
The President said the vision though ambitious, was achievable in the light of the plans and programmes put in place.<br />
<br />
This is also to enable the Government fulfil its commitment under the Paris Agreement to have an environmentally friendly technology that would be able to address issues with climate change.<br />
<br />
Mr Peter Amewu, Minister of Energy said Government was in the process of rationalising the contribution of independent power producers to the energy development of the country.<br />
<br />
He enumerated some key advantages of solar energy and said apart from its initial high cost of installation, solar energy was cheap.<br />
<br />
The Energy Minister said the only way to reduce the extensive bills on energy consumers was to invest in renewable energy adding that, it was not out of place for the Government to initiate processes to add renewable mix to the country’s energy.<br />
<br />
Mr Daniel Azu, Project Engineer expressed gratitude to the Energy Commission, and the chiefs and people of Oyandze for their support towards the project which occupied 100 acres of land.<br />

Authority (GEPA), who had paid a courtesy call on the company, the general manager said exporting to those countries would mean it would have to increase its prices which would make them uncompetitive or slash the prices and sell them at a loss.<br />
<br />
 He, therefore, urged the government to consider granting the company tax reliefs and exemptions in order to expand and export to other countries.<br />
<br />
 “We are a local firm which has generated its own resources to establish this company, with no support from the government. What we need from the government is leverages in the form of tax reliefs, exemption of duties and levies of some imported parts so that with time we will be expanding beyond this,” he stated.<br />
<br />
 “We are looking at gradually going into component manufacturing and that is where the money and employment is. Imagine we go into automotive tyre manufacturing, the job creation chain, from the farmer to the factories. Even if we are exporting tyre alone within the sub-region, that is a huge market and will employ lots of people,” he added.

Not afraid of competition</h2>
Mr Kujoji also pointed out that the company was not afraid of competition, following the announcement that German car manufacturer, VW, was considering setting up a plant in Ghana.<br />
<br />
He said the company was just asking for government support and was not scared of competition.

“We are not afraid of competition.<br />
<br />
VW is going to establish just a single plant here and what they are going to do is not different from what we are doing. They are also coming to import the components from Germany, assemble them here, and sell,” he noted.<br />
<br />
 We should, however, look beyond this as a country because this does not create a lot of employment opportunities. What creates lots of jobs is the component manufacturing which is what we want to do,” he explained.

Sharp u-turn</h2>
Mr Kujoji also pointed out that he was surprised at the sudden turn of events following the announcement that VW was considering establishing in Ghana.

“Since the announcement, there have been various calls and visits from government agencies and institutions.<br />
<br />
A team from the Ministry of Trade is coming here tomorrow. We met the Vice-President on Monday and met one of the Deputy Ministers of Trade and Industry on Tuesday and today we have you from the GEPA,” he indicated.<br />
<br />
 “Had it not been for the announcement, for the 18 months since the government came to office, no government institution has set foot here,” he added.

Assessing the Africa market</h2>
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the GEPA, Mr Samuel Dentu, said accessing the West African Market was very critical and the GEPA was going to do what it could to support them to export to the sub-region.

He said the introduction of VW could only add to what we have here.<br />
<br />
We have our own local manufacturer and the GEPA will help you to export,” he said.

“We came to see what is happening here and see the help we can offer,” he added.<br />

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged more women into entrepreneurship and politics, saying, their greater inclusion in the nation’s affairs is the most important force for development.<br />

<br />
The vision of ‘Ghana beyond Aid’ would materialise quicker when the entrepreneurial spirit of women, who are active agents of change, was harnessed effectively.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
He was speaking at the closing of 2018 Women Entrepreneurship Summit, organised by the National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI), in Accra. It was held under the theme “Ghanaian women entrepreneurs: from voices to action.”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The summit brought together policy makers, women innovators and entrepreneurs to engage in relevant conversations and discussions on the challenges hindering growth and profitability of their businesses.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo said he found it encouraging that the number of women entrepreneurs had considerably increased over the past decade. With over 40 percent of women’s participation in the country’s entrepreneurial space, the figure could go up if given the maximum push and support.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
“Women’s economic empowerment is one of the world’s most promising areas of investment with almost instant results - the reduction and eventual eradication of poverty and widespread unemployment.”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
To bridge the gender inequality gap, the President announced that the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) had been directed to see to it that 50 percent loans disbursed were given to women engaged in small-scale farming and businesses.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
There was a deliberate policy to also strengthen the capacity of local businesses by ensuring that 70 percent of all government-funded contracts or projects were awarded to local contractors. “Out of this, initially 30 percent of the contracts or projects are being awarded to women,” he added.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo said government was firm in its conviction that it was the competitiveness of indigenous enterprises, in the agricultural, manufacturing and information and communication technology (ICT) sectors that would determine the nation’s capacity to create wealth “for our women, and wealth in our society.”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
The competitiveness of the private sector, he noted, was critical to addressing issues of inclusion, economic development and growth.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
“That is the only way we can build a Ghana beyond aid—freeing our people from a mindset of dependence, aid, charity and handouts, and building a self-reliant economy, which will mobilise the immense resources of Ghana, material and human, with women and youth in the forefront, to resolve Ghana’s problems. That is the focus of my government.”<br />

He said with the farming population consisting of greater numbers of women than men, it was a certainty that more women would be involved in the planting for food and jobs programme.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
He pointed out that, “Women empowerment has been given a tremendous boost by the implementation of our free senior high school policy. Last year, 90,000 more students, the majority of whom were girls, entered senior high school, than in 2016.”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
Our educational reforms are encompassing also the scaling up of technical and vocation education training, which will benefit many young girls, to equip our youth with the skills necessary for the construction of a modern economy.”  <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
President Akufo-Addo said as they focussed on economic and educational reforms aimed at women empowerment and entrepreneurship, they were not overlooking the critical importance of enhancing women’s participation in the governance of the country.<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
“We are making systematic efforts to meet our goal of gender parity in the distribution of public offices, both at the centre and at the districts, for we see the two sides of political and economic reform as two sides of the same coin for promoting gender equality and women empowerment.”<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
He spoke of the restructuring of the NBSSI, to make it an institution with a renewed drive to provide first class enterprise development services to micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
“It will co-ordinate all programmes designed to integrate the MSMEs into agricultural and industrial value chains with market linkages to investment opportunities, being promoted by the Ministry of Trade and Industry, under our flagship “One District, One Factory” initiative, and other industrial initiatives, and by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture under the programme for Planting for Food and Jobs.”<br />
