“After mounting a spirited defense for the party against undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, I was disgraced in parliament like a child,” the fuming Assin Central lawmaker said. 
 
 He added: “Look at how the party is using me and eventually will disgrace me. I have had enough and I am quitting, I am telling you in plain words. 
 
 Before the Anas video came out, those who had the chance to preview it were alarmed and knew it will put the party in a bad light. 
 
 They sent emissaries to my house at dawn to go and defend the party; thereafter they disgraced me in parliament. 
 
 “Anybody who is at the NPP headquarters lobbying to be a Minister if I am not an MP he cannot run me down.

Nobody can also come and ask me to leave my house at 7am and go to defend the party on radio or television. 
 
 Politics is not the only means through which one can make it. 
 
 I am tired of NPP and the embarrassments.”

“I have decided not to contest again because of NPP and their conduct. 
 
 The way they are using me and making me to face all sorts of embarrassment I do not think I can continue. 
 
 You can record and go and play to them. 
 
 Where I have lived my life up to and they are treating me, I am calling it quits,” Mr. Agyapong stated.

The Public Relations Officer (PRO) for embattled former Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss has alleged that his boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi, made a payment of $100, 000 out of the $150, 000 demanded by Anas Aremeyaw Anas so he will drop the Number 12 video against him. 
 
Dr. Martin Luther Obeng in an exclusive interview with rainbowradioonline.com alleged that, Mr Nyantakyi managed to arrange the amount but Anas refused to drop the video because the embattled GFA boss had informed others about it. 
 
He further disclosed that the lawyer for Anas who he failed to provide the name, confirmed to Kennedy Agyapong, the Assin Central MP that, he [Anas] demanded the money and had received $100, 000. When he was pushed to give the name he declined saying, ‘’at the right time. We will provide the media with the details about the name of the lawyer. 
 
Some of the issues are currently in court and so I will not disclose some of them but we will soon address the media on them.’’ Meanwhile, he has stated that the statement which has gone viral was indeed from Nyantakyi but was not the full statement. 
 
According to him, the one who was made to print the statement leaked same at the time Mr Nyantakyi was preparing to release it. He also indicated the video from the Tiger Eye PI was doctored and that the amount given Kwesi Nyantakyi was $40,000 out of the $61,000 travelling cost he incurred for his travels to meet the fake businessmen who deceived him and not a bribe as alleged. 
 
Portions of statement issued read: 
 
‘’From voice over commentaries on the video I was reported to have accepted $65,000 in banknotes in October 2017 from a man claiming to be a member of the Qatari Royal Family (the Sheikh) who told me “that the money was for shopping” and that I then thanked the said man, “placed the banknotes into a black plastic bag” but “failed to report this large gift to the GFA” I vehemently deny the same, and wish to state that; 
 
 
 
i. It is completely false that I received $65,000 from a person claiming to be a member of the Qatari Royal Family. ii. It is also completely false that at the time the money was handed to me, I was informed “that the money was for shopping”. 
 
iii In the context of (ii) above, it is therefore false that I was handed a “large gift”. I have already dealt with the circumstances under which I received the money from the Sheikh. Of key significance however, is the allegation that I received the sum of $65,000. 
 
 
 
Travel expenses for the three (3) trips came up to $61,000.00 the breakdown of which is as follows: I. Cost of air ticket for two (2) trips, board and lodging -$10,000.00 II. Cost of first-class air tickets for three others -$26,000.00 
 
III. Cost of board and lodging for the three others at Burj Arab Hotel Dubai for five days -$25,000.00 Total cost= $61,000.00 I was handed the sum of $40.000 only in eight (8) bundles of US$ 50 banknotes but not $65,000 which both I and the Sheikh’s agent understood to be reimbursement for the travel costs incurred by me, at the Sheikh’s request. 
 
 
 
It is very easy to confirm how much was given to me from the video tapes. The money was exposed before I was tricked to put in the bag personally. A critical review of the video clip will reveal that when the money was handed to me, there was no mention of shopping. 
 
A different video has a voice emerging from a faceless speaker saying “shopping for now”. This insertion of an over riding voice was clearly an after thought. 
 
Based on the agreement with Suale, the $40,000 was a refund and not a gift or bribe. Its disingenuous to purport to donate a gift when the donor owes a lawful debt for cost of travels. 
 
 
 
The question that beats my mind is why Tiger Eye lied about the amount of money given to me. Why was the viewing public not allowed to perceive what they saw and heard on the video themselves? Why run commentaries to deceive the viewing public?’’

Jesus was tempted three times, John the Evangelist in his epistle calls these temptations as "lust of eyes" (materialism), "lust of body" (hedonism or pursuit of pleasure) and "pride of life" (egoism). 
 
Jesus was tempted (<a href="https://ghanachurch.com/online-holy-bible/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Mark 1:13; Luke 4:1-13</a>), but He never sinned (<a href="https://ghanachurch.com/online-holy-bible/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Hebrews 4:15</a>). Sin occurs when we mishandle temptation.

From the book of <a href="https://ghanachurch.com/online-holy-bible/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">ACTS 5: 1-11</a>, Ananias, with his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property and with his wife’s knowledge he kept back for himself some of the proceeds and brought only a part of it and laid it at the apostles’ feet. 
 
But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?. Ananias and Sapphira died because they were tempted but they failed.

Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is a Ghanaian politician who represents Assin Central in parliament for the New Patriotic Party.

Agyapong has vowed to commit suicide if former President John Mahama's brother, Ibrahim, is not jailed by the Akufo-Addo government for some alleged corrupt activities which, according to Agyapong, have led to the state losing money. 
 
 He said on Adom TV's Badwam on Thursday, 30 March 2017 that he would drink poison if Ibrahim were not jailed.

Agyapong is also noted for insulting people of higher office. His insults on the Electoral Commissioner of Ghana Charlotte Osei for trading sex for her position as the Electoral Commissioner (EC) boss brought upon him criticisms from various leaders including Queen mothers and human rights activists as well as other members of parliament.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi is Ashanti regional Chairman of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Wontumi, who was former student of Prempeh College and completed in 1996 and continued to a security school in London, believed to own about 100 houses in Kumasi.

Profile and Biography of Anas Aremeyaw Anas
Anas grew up in a military barracks in Ghana. 
 
He attended the University of Ghana. After university he turned down an opportunity to work as a reporter for the Ghanaian Times newspaper, instead choosing to join the Crusading Guide newspaper in 1998. The editor of the newspaper, Kweku Baako Jnr, had just been released from jail in the same year. 
 
 Anas Aremeyaw Anas is a Ghanaian investigative journalist born in the late 1970s. Anas's motto is "name, shame and jail", and he is famous for utilizing his anonymity as a tool in his investigative arsenal; very few people had seen his face until an "unmasking" during a BBC interview in November 2015 — and this was a prosthetic. A politically non-aligned multimedia journalist who specializes in print media and documentary, Anas focuses on issues of human rights and anti-corruption in Ghana and sub-Saharan Africa.

Anas has won critical acclaim for his work advocating for basic human rights such as the right to not be held in human slavery or servitude and for his work exposing corruption. His investigative works have won him worldwide acclaim, including President Barack Obama highlighting his virtues in a speech during a 2009 visit to Ghana: "An independent press. 
 
A vibrant private sector. A civil society. Those are the things that give life to democracy. [...] We see that spirit in courageous journalists like Anas Aremeyaw Anas, who risked his life to report the truth."

Anas has won more than 17 international awards for his investigative work. He was polled as the fifth most influential Ghanaian in 2011 by e.tv Ghana, and named one of the "Most Influential Africans of the Year" by New African magazine in December 2014. 
 
 Chameleon by Ryan Mullins, a documentary about Anas's life and work, was premiered at the 2014 IDFA festival in Amsterdam.

In December 2015 Foreign Policy magazine named Anas one of 2015's leading global thinkers, an honour previously granted to the likes of Barack Obama, Aung San Suu Kyi, Pope Benedict XVI, and Malala Yousafzai. 
 
 In March 2016, Anas was invited by Harvard Law School as a keynote speaker to share his experiences as an international undercover journalist creating change on the continent of Africa in 2016. 
 
 He is consistently invited to talk on his work at gatherings all around the world. In the period from October to December 2016, Anas made his first foray into public life, outside of the world of investigative journalism, as a powerful advocate for peace in his "Anas4Peace" multimedia campaign.

The mentor of Anas Aremeyaw Anas, Mr Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, has explained the circumstances that led to the breach of confidentiality between President Akufo-Addo and Anas and led to the reporting of Kwesi Nyantakyi to the police ahead of the outdoor of the documentary on sports corruption. According to him, it was agreed that the Presidency would have responded to the exposé on the part that concerns President Akufo-Addo a day before or on the day the documentary was to be shown, however, that was not done. 
 
Investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ latest work on sports corruption expected to be shown on June 6, 2018, is a joint project between Tigereye and the BBC. 
 
However, even before the documentary is shown, there has been a reaction with President Akufo-Addo reporting the Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi to the police for influence peddling and defrauding by false pretense using his [Akufo-Addo] name based on evidence captured in the documentary. 
 
Nyantakyi saga: Presidency breached confidentiality – Baako Explaining the circumstances that led to the breach of confidentiality on Metro TV’s Good Morning television discussion programme Thursday, Mr Baako, the Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper said it was for ethical reasons that they couldn’t go and put out the documentary without giving President Akufo-Addo an opportunity to view and respond. 
 
That, he said, would have been “criminally irresponsible so that opportunity was offered him [Akufo-Addo]. 
 
 
“We knew that the project was not complete and the time it would be outdoored to the public, the date had been stated as 6th June.” 
 
“Let me be honest, the President [Akufo-Addo] watched some few minutes, about 5 minutes or so of the video project, those portions that concern the president.” 
 
I had my own difficulty with how things have unfolded - Kweku Baako. Adding, Mr Baako said there was a certain confidentiality agreement that they had reached with the President, “I think people are reading so much into it, there was no formal written agreement, it was more or less a gentleman’s agreement between the two sides, the President on one side and the Tigereye cum BBC on the other side.” 
 
 
 
He said the two sides agreed to let the president watch those portions that concern him and interview him for his reaction since it was all part of the investigative process, “and they graciously agreed, and it was also good for the other side so that nobody gets hints of what was coming.” 
 
“It appears that what triggered the presidential intervention or response was that on Kwami Sefa Kayi’s show [Kokrokoo] on Tuesday he dropped a hint that the president had been mentioned, the vice president too had been mentioned and that gave the impression that we too were breaching that confidentiality because Kwami was perceived as being part of us, I [Baako] might have told Kwami so how did he get to know and why did he drop it? 
 
“And then that particular disclosure was picked up by various people, social media ….as if that meant the president was guilty or implicated, so that triggered their response, very unfortunate, I’m disappointed but I understand. I debated, I protested, they made their case, I evaluated and I realized that well here is a situation you have a whole president, he had given his word, he will keep cool till the day or two before and then suddenly out there, its been said that he was mentioned, it’s a huge office and he has also got integrity, which for me is indestructible…, so they reacted and that reaction changed the dynamics. 
 
“Indeed I can tell you that the BBC is disappointed that this happened. I was disappointed, Anas disappointed because none of us knew that there was going to be a response, I got to know after the event had taken place.” 
 
Mr Baako added that Mr Sefa Kayi himself has conceded. 
 
Showing Anas exposé to Akufo-Addo before public wrong – Alban Bagbin 
 
“I read also and in this case, it is a very experienced politician Mr [Alban] Bagbin saying that it was wrong for the President to have viewed it before, incredible, absolutely incredible. If he [Bagbin] were to be in that situation, would he be happy if this thing was put out there before your response is solicited, would he be happy. Even the ethics alone compelled the investigators to give the President that option of watching and in any case, it was not as if he watched all the video," Mr Kweku Baako said. 
 
The emphasis is on football, this is about football corruption…it so happens that in the course of the investigations, the GFA boss is captured peddling influence to the extent of mentioning political people in the political establishment then the mixture of politics and football came in, otherwise the focus is on football.” 
 
Mr Baako reiterated that letting the President see it and ask for his reaction is part of the investigative process and that if the president had not been mentioned nobody will go and give him the chance to watch anything, because it would be unnecessary, needless. And it is required, ethics of us to give him the chance… and I’m surprised that an experienced politician is canvassing the option that no, somebody who is mentioned in a negative way during an investigation should not be given the chance. 
 
"I’m surprised that whatever it is, the matter has moved one stage relative to a personality, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi. President Nana Akufo-Addo has ordered the arrest of President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwasi Nyantakyi, for defrauding by false pretences and influence peddling. 
 
Nana Akufo-Addo ordered the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to arrest Mr Nyantakyi after being privy to investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Number 12 undercover documentary, which exposed the GFA president as using the name of the president for certain purposes. 
 
Anas Aremeyaw Anas has scheduled 6 June to premier the undercover piece which took him over two years to put together. 
 
Just a week ago, Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul-Malik Kweku Baako Jr., said a well-known lawyer tried bribing Anas Aremeyaw Anas to edit out scandalous findings against “a man” believed to be in the GFA, in the yet-to-be premiered Number 12 piece. 
 
Speaking about the piece, Mr Baako Jr. told Randy Abbey on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana programme on Thursday, 17 May that: “Look, this one, this GFA one, there was an attempt to bribe him, OK”. 
 
He said: “There was an attempt because there is a lawyer – and I’m sorry I won’t mention his name, of course he may know it's him, maybe he is watching us – who is close to Anas and who knew that this job was going on, and I think he went and did some ‘Okro mouth’, so, somebody now tries to give him money to go and give to Anas. 
 
“The lawyer took the money and was scared to go and deliver it to Anas. So, eventually he [lawyer] had to go back to the man and say: ‘[I couldn’t deliver the bribe], take it’. But of course we have found out. He’s a lawyer, very good lawyer, prominent lawyer”, Mr Baako Jr. said. 
 
On the same show, Mr Baako Jr. said the exposé will render the careers of some top people in tatters. 
 
“It’s a disaster, sometimes we are all human beings with some weaknesses here and there and I feel sorry for some because some are friends. If I had my way, perhaps, I would say: ‘Leave this alone’, but Anas is a different breed of animal and I have never ever in my life attempted to influence him. He brings it, I look at it, we can defend it, I say: ‘Proceed’. So, there are people whose careers or integrities may, perhaps, be in tatters.”
