There was another ¢29.9m he caused to be granted companies he owned or was related to. <br /> <h3> He later came for another ¢78.9m in loans.</h3> The CEO has been asked in the writ to cough up more than ¢580m in shareholder loans he took as well as loans granted to companies he owned or is related to.<br /> <br />  In another episode of severe and acute culture of mismanagement at the defunct bank, the directors and shareholders kept ¢482m in “non-existent investments” in their books.<br /> <br />  The central bank would later grant their request for this imaginary investment to be converted into actual loans to be paid by the shareholders.<br /> <br />  To date, a shareholder Otabil and Associates founded by the pastor and management expert has been unable to pay ¢51.6m which is they share of the loan converted from the imaginary investments.<br /> <br />  Otabil’s church the <a href="https://ghanachurch.com/international-central-gospel-church-icgc-pastor-dr-mensa-otabil/" rel="noopener" target="_blank"><strong>International Central Gospel Church</strong></a> which was a shareholder in the bank has also failed to pay ¢51.6m which is also their share of the 482m loan.<br /> <br />  A third defendant, Oheneba Osei-Akoto took a ¢2.42m loan in December 2016 using his residential property at Regimanuel Gray Estates at East Legon as collateral.<br /> <br />  The defendant and shareholder has failed to pay back the money.<br /> <br />  The plaintiffs said these defendants are responsible for ‘serious financial loss’ at the defunct Capital bank.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />  Source: <a href="http://myjoyonline.com/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Myjoyonline.com</a>

Even if I look expensive, it is more of what I give out than what I wear or have.<br /> <br /> You see, God can bless anybody, and in every nation there are people he has chosen to bless but there are principles and that’s what people must understand, principles are the same even though the process sometime changes. I believe in giving and I believe must give to be connected to God’s blessing.<br /> <br /> “I came from a family where it was difficult to succeed, in fact there is nothing to write home about my childhood. I was born poor, from a typical village without education. We were so wretched that our parents could not afford sending any of us to school. While growing up, I hawked to survive.<br /> Even after receiving my calling, nothing worked for me.<br /> <br /> All the three churches I started collapsed, and on my wedding day, I couldn’t afford a wedding gown for my wife. She had to make use of her friend’s gown, the lady was also getting married that same day and the arrangement was for her to pass it on to us around 12 noon, but the timing changed, and by the time she got hold of the gown, everyone has left including the Pastor, our marriage was actually blessed by my friend, the best man.<br /> <br /> After the wedding, we left Kumasi for Accra with a borrowed 5cedis to add to our transport fare.<br /> And getting to Accra, we had nowhere to lay our heads. Somewhere in Neoplan Station, my wife and I had to sleep at the motor park for over four months, from there a friend housed us in Adabraka, Accra Central where we were sleeping in a corridor. My friend couldn’t have harbored us in his one single room. Life was tough and rough for us.<br /> <br />  I hawked at the bus station for survival.<br /> But I never gave up hope, because the message I received from God about moving to Accra was a clear one. He said he will bless me if I can also give him everything. I started preaching at the motor park, from there we started a church and on the day of our harvest, we raised an amount of 240 Cedis, then God said to me, give it to me and immediately I obeyed his instruction and I informed my wife that the money was not ours but God.<br /> <br /> Thereafter, we arranged the money in a white envelope and left together with my wife to Dzorwulu (Accra) to see <strong><a href="https://ghanachurch.com/profile-biography-of-bishop-charles-agyinasare/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Bishop Agyin Asare</a> of <a href="https://ghanachurch.com/perez-chapel-international-bishop-charles-agyinasare/" rel="noopener" target="_blank">Perez Chapel</a></strong>, getting there we handed the money to him and he blessed us.<br /> <br /> Walking back home, something strange happened. There was this popular mad man at Dzorwulu junction, around the traffic light.<br /> <br /> He was walking towards my wife’s direction, as I was on the other side, so I rushed there to prevent him from getting close to her and lo and behold he emptied all the debris he was carrying on me, it was embarrassing but as I was wiping it off my face, there comes $100 notes mixed with the garbage, money everywhere, I mean $100 notes. What I did was to rushed and gathered the debris together and boarded a taxi home. Altogether the money was $20,000, that was how our story changed for better.

In neither case is gambling presented in a good light. The Bible also mentions the casting of lots for the purpose of decision making (Joshua 18:10; Nehemiah 10:34). And Proverbs 16:33 emphasizes the sovereignty of God: “The lot is cast into the lap, but its every decision is from the LORD.” But the biblical purpose of casting lots was not to test one’s luck or to gain material wealth.<br /> <br /> The main purpose of playing the lottery is to win money, and the Bible tells us what our attitude toward money should be. So often, riches get in the way of a man’s spiritual benefit (Mark 4:19; 10:25). Jesus teaches, “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money” (Luke 16:13). First Timothy 6:10 is where we find the famous warning that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.<br /> <br /> Playing the lottery as a get-rich-quick scheme is statistically futile, and it focuses the lottery player on the temporary riches of this world (see Proverbs 23:5). The fact is, God wants people to earn their money honestly by working hard: “The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat” (2 Thessalonians 3:10). We ought to gain wealth through diligence, as a gift from the Lord: “Lazy hands make for poverty, but diligent hands bring wealth” (Proverbs 10:4).<br /> <br /> Gamblers, including players of the lottery, typically covet money and the things that money can buy. God forbids covetousness: “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor” (Exodus 20:17; see also 1 Timothy 6:10). One of the world’s lies is that money is the answer to life’s problems. People are lured into playing the lottery with promises that their lives will improve if they can only hit the jackpot. If they can just get lucky with the numbers, their problems will disappear. Such hopes are empty (see Ecclesiastes 5:10–15).<br /> <br /> So, we would do well to be cautious about playing the lottery. There are many better uses for the money spent on a ticket, and we must guard our hearts against covetousness and our lives against addictions to gaming. Buying a lottery ticket here and there may not be a sin, but greed is.
