Eastwood Anaba Was Nicknamed SUNSHINE Anaba In Presec</td></tr> </tbody></table> The Bolga native had come  582km down south to Presec for his sixth form education in September 1979.<br /> <br />  Akro House was his assigned house and within weeks, his excellent social skills and good interpersonal relations made him the darling boy of all.<br /> <br /> Apart from helping younger ones with chemistry problems, he removed his seniority garb and related to them as brothers. He did not demand respect but earned it by sheer humility and candour. To him, the yellow sixth form uniform was just a distinguishing apparel, not a condescending costume.<br /> <br /> Akro House sports pundits liked his lanky physique and felt his dominance on a volleyball pitch would break the dominance of Kwansa House in that sport. If not volleyball, at least javelin or discuss would be the sports we will use console ourselves.<br /> <br /> But no way, this guy would not do any sports. We were to be disappointed like a man who found out the lady whom he had admired, fallen for and was preparing to approach was indeed a married woman with four kids!!!!!!<br /> <br /> As he crossed the dusty open space behind Clerk House bathroom on his way to Akro that Tuesday afternoon after lunch, Eastwood belched twice with satisfaction.<br /> <br />  He had a good reason for that involuntary gastrointestinal activity because Senior Henaku, aka Ananse his buddy had shared an extra plate of rice and kontomere stew with him.<br /> <br /> Removing his shirt and hanging it on the nail by the window, Eastwood was about to catch some rest when the mails boy handed him a letter.<br /> <br /> Human behaviour and suspicions are inextricably linked. When Eastwood recognized the handwriting on the letter and inferred its author, he quickly hid the letter under his pillow and gazed at the ceiling with joy.<br /> <br /> His immediate and growing excitement caught the attention of Joseph Ansah-Addo aka, Gulus Berber who slept beneath him on the twin metal bed. Inquisitiveness took hold of Ansah-Addo and with his telescopic eyes, he purposed to find out the contents of the letter.<br /> <br /> When women are in love and want to secure themselves, they employ the use of adjectives in expressing themselves to pamper their men.<br /> <br /> That was exactly what this lady letter writer did. Craning his neck and catching Eastwood off guard as he consumed the contents of the letter, Ansah-Addo saw the salutation of the letter:<br /> <h4> MY SUNSHINE !!!!!</h4> Momentarily rendered deaf and dumb by what he has just seen, Ansah-Addo gathered himself and roared out “Sunnnnnnnshine. Although, they should have mitigated the possible risks and the optimum risk adjustment before rolling it out.<br /> <br />  I think it is a good policy which deserves support and commendation’’ He repeated.<br /> <br /> Hon. Mike Hammah further stated that, the NDC solidly supports the Free SHS policy and in the event that they come to power and have to review it, he is sure it will be a positive review to mitigate the loopholes within the policy and not to scrap it off or collapse it.<br /> <br /> <br /> ‘’Anybody who says, the NDC does not support the Free SHS probably does not truly support the NDC party. I believe strongly that this is the most equitable and transparent use of the oil revenue, instead of it finding its way into the pockets of politicians and bureaucrats.”<br /> <br /> As a result of the implementation of the Free SHS policy, the President stated that his Government is laying a strong foundation for an educated and skilled workforce of the future, adding that “we are investing in our future scientists, engineers, modern farmers, innovators, entrepreneurs, and transformation agents!”<br /> <br /> President Akufo-Addo made this known on Friday, 11th May, 2018, when he delivered the keynote address at the 2018 Oxford Africa Conference, at the University of Oxford.<br /> <br /> This year, the Akufo-Addo government has announced that it will spend some GH¢453 million ($103 million) of the country’s oil revenue on funding Free SHS, more than double the amount spent last year on funding the policy.<br /> <br /> Addressing the gathering on the theme “Enough Rhetoric: Catalysing an Era of Concrete Action”, the President stated that his administration has embarked on shifting the emphasis in education to ensure that science, technology, engineering and mathematics drive all sectors of the economy.<br /> <br /> “We are committing resources to basic and applied science and engineering to ensure that we are able to meet the critical need for technicians and engineers. This process encompasses also a scaling up of technical, vocational and education training to supply the skills needed to build a modern economy,” he added.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <b>Increase in Trade</b><br /> <br /> Touching on the issue of trade, President Akufo-Addo stated that the ratification of the Continental Free Trade Area agreement by the Ghanaian Parliament would mean that the era of low volumes of intra-continental trade that have defined the activities of the African economies will come to an end.<br /> <br /> “Up till now, trade between African regions has remained low compared to other parts of the world. In 2000, intra-regional trade accounted for 10% of Africa’s total trade, and increased marginally to 11% in 2015. Trading amongst members of the European Union, for example, amounted to 70% in 2015,” the President said.<br /> <br /> He noted that with Africa’s population set to increase from 1.2 billion to 2 billion in 20 years time, an increase in intra-regional trade in Africa is the surest way to develop fruitful relations between African countries.<br /> <br /> This market, he explained, will present immense opportunities to bring wealth and prosperity to the African people, with hard work, ingenuity, innovation and enterprise.<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> “It will mean a rapid increase in exchanges of our agricultural, financial, industrial, scientific and technological products, which would enhance dramatically our attainment of prosperity, and the prospects of employment for the broad masses of Africans, particularly our youth.
