Information reaching GhanaSky.com indicates that, the Adomi Bridge is located at Atimpoku in the Eastern Region of Ghana over the Volta Lake. It serves as the main passage route for travellers to the Volta regional capital, Ho. This suspension bridge was built in 1957 and is truly a testament to engineering excellence.







According to GhanaSky.com analyst, rehabilitation of the Adomi bridge became necessary  and President Mahama government was able to secure 12.9 million Euros for the rehabilitation works and an additional 13.96 million Euros for the preparatory works and studies from the Bank of Austria.

It is a two-hinged steel arch bridge with a deck suspended by cables. It was designed in 1956 and completed in 1957 by William Brown, of the engineers Freeman Fox & Partners.

His Excellency the President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama commissioned the re-opening of the Adomi Bridge at Senchi, Atimpoku in the Eastern Region.

As a result of this, Government was able to secure 12.9 million Euros for the rehabilitation works and an additional 13.96 million Euros for the preparatory works and studies from the Bank of Austria for detailed inspection and tests which necessitated the need for the rehabilitation of the bridge.

Adomi Bridge is a bridge located in Ghana in West Africa. It spans the Volta River that drains into the Gulf of Guinea, south of the Akosombo Dam. It is a two-hinged steel arch bridge with a deck suspended by cables.
