Bodmas and Pemdas Order of Operations

Report reaching the corridors of GhanaSky.com moved our Mathematician, who did Pure Mathematics and Statistics in his college days before entered into Information technology (IT).

"I can see most people gave wrong answers on "Ofie Kwanso Adom FM" fan page on FaceBook and therefore I decided to give example of  how you can work out such maths with BODMAS"

In the USA, and some other countries, use the “PEMDAS” Rule for doing their maths operations.  It stands for "Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction".

So somebody in US will answer this example as follows:

Example 1:
1 + 2 x 5
Incorrect Method: 2 + 3 x -4 = 5 x -4 = - 20
Correct Method: 2 + 3 x -4 = 2 + -12 = - 10 [Multiplication before addition]

There are two possible ways of doing this question but one must follow the “Order of Operations” carefully in Mathematics to arrive at correct answers.

Operation goes this way: Brackets, Squares, Powers, Square Roots, Division, Multiplication, Addition, and Subtraction.

The right way, and the wrong way!

Example 2:
30÷ -5 + 4 x -2 +14 =?
= - 6 + -8 + 14
= - 14 + 14
= 0

Example 3:
Start with Brackets, Multiplication and then Division
Both BODMAS and PEMDAS
    (6 - 9) x 10 ÷ -3 =?
= -3  x 10 ÷ -3
= -3 x 10 ÷ -3
= -30 ÷ -3
= +10
=10

According to my GhanaSky.com analyst, the above  BODMAS example image must be answered with "Division/Brackets, Multiplication, Addition and finally Subtraction. That order must be follow.
The original order of operations in most countries was BODMAS, which stands for Brackets, Orders or pOwers, Division, Multiplication, Addition, Subtraction.
