Ghanaian striker Asumah Abubakar Ankrah has been named in Portugal’s squad for the UEFA U19 championship in Germany.

The Willem II Tilburg player earned a late call up from coach Emilio Peixe.

Abubakar moved to Portugal from Kumasi-based Corners Babies where he was raised by an adopted family.

"I am very happy to have made my mark, I am looking forward to the actual tournament and hopefully I can do more,” Asumah told Footballmadeinghana.com

Portugal are in Group A alongside Germany, Italy and Austria for the tournament which will run from 11-24 July.
