The electoral Commission of Ghana has announced 4,173,959 people have verified their particulars in ongoing voters register exhibition exercise.

The Electoral Commission’s (EC) exhibition of the voters’ register begun Monday July, 18 and is set to end August 7, 2016.

The exhibition of the voters’ register will give voters the opportunity to verify their personal details ahead of the general elections in November.

Persons whose names were deleted from the register after using the NHIS card to register as proof of citizenship, following the Supreme Court ruling ordering same, will also be allowed to re-register onto the electoral roll during the first 10 days of this exercise.

Speaking to the Media Friday, the Communications director of the Electoral Commission, Eric Dzakpasu said no provision is made to extend the verification exercise if people do not go through it within the time frame allocated for such purpose.
