Critical thinkers International (CTI), are very disappointed  over the  unsubstantiated allegations and personal attacks’, targeted at the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Madam Charlotte Osei by Mr. Kennedy Agyapong, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central; whiles he was addressing supporters of the biggest opposition Party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Asokwa; a suburb of Kumasi. It is rather unfortunate that the NPP will allow Mr. Kennedy Agyapong to make such a sad comment about a lady who was appointed by the President.

The Chairperson of the Electoral Commission is a qualified lawyer who has worked as a professional throughout her legal career and who also is the immediate past Chairperson of the National Commission for Civic Education. Aside that, she was not appointed by the President alone but it was done in collaboration with the council of elders of the country. So to suggest that she had no competence to be appointed Electoral Commissioner and to subject her to a personal attack  is sad, distasteful, regretful and most disresctful to womanhood and so, the Parliamentarian, Mr. Agyapong should come out immediately and apologise to her. Though we all have our democratic rights to complain, question or criticise the Electoral Commission on their way of work and their  preparations towards the upcoming elections, that does not give room for the personal attacks on the EC Chairperson.

Let's not forget that just as Charlotte Osei is the country’s first female chair of the Electoral Commission, so was Madam Georgina Theodora Woode appointed as the first female Chief Justice in the country. Would Mr. Agyapong say then President Kuffour had to sleep with her before her appointment?

Furthermore, did Mr. Agyapong sleep with all females he has given opportunities to? Or did Mr. Agyapong sleep with all his female employees before he employed them?
Moreover, did all females who had appointments under Ex presidents; Rawlings, Kuffour and Mills had to be slept with?

Looking at the recent trend in Ghanaian politics , we won't be surprised if a female becomes the President of this state in the near future. Should that happen, will the lady have to sleep with all Ghanaian men?

To be honest, Madam  Charlotte Osei has been disgraceful and a disgrace to women with respect to her performance with her job so we advice her to be fair in the discharge of her duties from now on.

This statement from  the Parliamentarian, will only make females who have the ambitions of attaining higher heights in society coil back into their shells thereby, making women slaves or bow to men all the time.

We will advice the leadership of the NPP especially,  the flag bearer, the Ashanti Regional executives and the women's wing to come out and disassociate themselves from these unfortunate comments or have Mr. Kennedy Agyapong to  apologise to Madam Charlotte Osei and all females in Ghana so as to avoid a possible lost of the support of females in the country.

Thank you

God is King

Hhhmm, may God be praised always
