The 59-year old died at the Koforidua Government Hospital after collapsing immediately he finished performing at an event organized by Joy Industries Limited.
Managing Editor of Joy Daddy Multimedia, Kwaku Solomon told the media that Bob Okala was not billed to perform on the night but was allowed to appear on stage after he begged the organisers.
He claimed that the organisers initially refused to give in to his plea since they knew he wasn’t well but later changed their minds due to the cordial relationship that existed between them.
Rumours indicate the late Okala took in some shots of the alcoholic drink before appearing on stage. He collapsed after the performance and was rushed to the Koforidua Government Hospital where he died on arrival.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Easy Way Music Production, who is also the spokesperson for Bob Okala’s family, Seth Kwaku Amponsah has rubbished Kwaku Solomon’s claim insisting that Bob Okala was invited officially invited to the programme to perform.
According to him, Kwaku Solomon has subsequently been sacked by Joy Industries Limited for lying about the issue and also making such derogatory comments about their relative. “Management of Joy Industries Limited have been close friends of Bishop Okala until his death, so I was surprised to hear Kwaku Solomon make such denigrating comments about him after his death”, he said.
