George alleged the supposed attack which was not carried out, was intended to court sympathies for the veteran MP and his household given he had lost the people’s trust and support.
“ET Mensah planned an armed robbery attack on himself,” the presidential staffer told Bernard Nasara Saibu on a special election coverage of Starr Today on Starr 103.5FM, Tuesday.
“With my security networks I know the people he met in Ashaiman, we know the money he offered them and they refused it. Then he met another group of robbers to carry out the deed,” he further revealed.
George said the attack was called off because he made the “vile”, “old man” know he and his camp are aware of his plans.
“We sent him a text message that this is what you are planning, we know what you are doing, stop it!”
George has been known as ET Mensah’s protégé in the past.
The contest between them may be one of the NDC’s fiercest as they prepare to vote at the primaries on November 21, 2015.
